Vibe coded app security audit for AI-built apps

BugsQA audits apps built with Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, Cursor or Claude Code before launch: we test database rules, exposed keys, ownership checks and logins as a real user would, retest your fixes, so strangers can’t read your users' data.

AI-built apps fail in the same places

Our research into 2025 and 2026 incidents found the same few failures behind almost every exposed AI-built app.

  • 10.3%

of 1,645 showcased Lovable apps let anyone read their database (2025)

  • 1.5M

API tokens exposed by one vibe-coded app, Moltbook (2026)

  • 49%

of package versions AI coding agents pick have known vulnerabilities

  • 2x

the secret-leak rate in Claude Code-assisted commits vs the baseline

Sources: researcher disclosure for CVE-2025-48757, Wiz, Endor Labs, GitGuardian. Full data in our 2026 QA security testing report.

Is an AI-built app audit right for you?

An audit fits anyone about to put real users and real data into an app an AI tool wrote.

It’s for you if

  • You built the app with Lovable, Bolt, Replit, Base44, v0, Cursor or Claude Code and nobody has security-tested it
  • Real users are about to sign up, pay or upload data
  • Your app uses Supabase or Firebase and you are not sure your rules block other users
  • An investor, customer or partner asked whether the app is secure

It’s not the right fit if

  • You need a formal penetration test or compliance certificate; we refer you to a pentest firm
  • The app is a private prototype with no real users or data yet
  • You only want an automated scan, with nobody testing your roles

What we test in an AI-built app

We test the failures researchers keep finding in AI-built apps, starting with who can reach whose data.

Database rules: Supabase row-level security and Firebase rules

We try to list, read and write your tables from a logged-out session and from each user role. Missing row-level security exposed the 170 Lovable apps in 2025 and Moltbook’s 1.5 million tokens in 2026.

Exposed keys and secrets

We check your JavaScript bundle, network requests and mobile app package for service keys, API tokens and admin credentials that should never leave your server.

Ownership checks on every record

We change IDs in URLs and API calls to open, edit and delete other users' orders, files and messages. Improper API authorization was one of the most common flaws when five AI coding agents built 15 apps in an independent test.

Logins and account flows

We test sign-up, login, password reset, magic links, email confirmation and sessions, including skipped and replayed steps. Base44’s 2025 flaw let outsiders join private apps with only a public app ID.

Business logic and payments

We test negative quantities, edited prices, skipped payment steps and reused coupons, the rules AI agents most often leave open.

Dependencies the agent added

We confirm every package exists, is the one intended and has no known vulnerability.

Your AI self-check, a scanner or a human audit?

AI self-checks and built-in scanners catch known patterns; a human audit tests whether your app actually blocks the wrong user.

Launching next week?

We can test your database rules, keys and access control in days, and write each fix so you can paste it back into your AI tool.

What a finding from your audit looks like

Each finding names the data at risk, how to reproduce it and a fix you can hand straight to your AI tool.

Our AI-built app audit process

An audit goes from a free call to a findings report in a few business days.

  1. 01

    Free call

We learn what the app does, which tool built it, where it is hosted, which roles exist and what data it stores.

  2. 02

    Access

We get a staging or preview link, a test account for each role and, if you want, read access to the project under NDA.

  3. 03

    Test plan

We map your data, roles and entry points and write test cases for database rules, keys, ownership, logins and payments.

  4. 04

    Testing and findings

We test the app and report each issue with steps, severity, the data at risk and a fix written for your AI tool.

  5. 05

    Retest

After you or your AI tool apply the fixes, we retest them and check the flows around each fix.

What an AI-built app audit costs

Audits run on fixed prices, so you know the cost before we start.

Pre-launch audit

$1,500from, fixed price per release

A full security pass on your AI-built app before real users arrive.

  • Test plan for your data and roles
  • Database rules, keys, ownership, logins, payments and dependencies tested

  • One retest round after your fixes

Every release after launch

$1,700from, per month, part-time (40 hours)

A QA engineer who retests security and features each time your AI tool changes the app.

Smaller checks, such as a single feature or a fix retest, cost $45 per hour.

  • Security regression on every release
  • Same-day retests in your time zone
  • Month to month

Frequently asked questions about AI-built app security

Still have questions?

How secure are vibe coded apps?

Vibe coded apps are as secure as the rules and checks behind them, and those are often missing. Researchers found 10.3% of 1,645 showcased Lovable apps exposing their databases, and scans of thousands of AI-built apps found exposed secrets and personal data. Most issues are configuration and access control, which a pre-launch audit catches.

Is Lovable secure?

Lovable secures its platform, but your app’s security depends on your Supabase row-level security, keys and access rules. Lovable has said each customer is responsible for their app’s data, and it added a security scan in 2025. We test the running app from each role to confirm the rules actually block access.

How much does a vibe coded app security audit cost?

A BugsQA pre-launch audit costs from $1,500 fixed per app and includes a findings report and one retest round. Ongoing testing after launch starts at $1,700 per month (40 hours), and smaller checks cost $45 per hour.

Can i fix the issues with my AI tool?

Yes. We write each finding with a fix in plain language you can paste into Lovable, Bolt, Cursor or Claude Code, then we retest. AI tools sometimes fix one issue and reopen another, so the retest matters.

How long does an audit take?

Most audits start 2 to 3 business days after signing and deliver findings within a few business days of access, depending on the number of roles and features. Tell us your launch date and we plan around it.

Is this a penetration test?

No. An AI-built app audit is QA security testing focused on the common failures of AI-built apps. If an investor, customer or regulation requires a formal penetration test, use a specialist pentest firm; our audit is the fast first pass and the retest on later releases.
