How does the QA price estimate work?

The estimate picks the plan that matches your platforms, user flows and release pace, then adds any add-ons.

For one launch or update, a small app with up to 5 flows on one platform gets the $450 launch check. Otherwise the release test is sized by the larger of your platforms and flows: up to 10 flows on one platform is Small, up to 20 flows or two platforms is Standard, and up to 30 flows or all three platforms is Full.

If you release every month, the same size maps to a monthly plan: Small to 40 hours, Standard to 80 hours and Full to 110 hours. Releasing every sprint moves you up one plan, and releasing several times a week means a full-time engineer. More than 30 flows on a monthly plan usually needs a team, which we quote after a call.

Frequently asked questions about QA testing pricing

    Still have questions?

How much does QA testing cost?

QA testing at BugsQA costs $450 for a launch check of a small app, from $1,500 to $3,900 for a fixed-price release test, or from $1,700 a month (40 hours) to $5,900 for a full-time QA engineer. Hourly work costs $45 for manual QA and $55 for test automation.

Is the estimate the final price?

The estimate is a starting point based on our published prices. BugsQA confirms the final price in a written quote after a free call, and it is often lower once we see your app and what you already test.

What is the cheapest way to test a small app before launch?

The cheapest way to test a small app before launch is the $450 launch check: a QA engineer tests sign-up, login, password reset, payments and one main flow on 2 real devices in 2 to 3 days, with a bug list, videos and one retest.

Should I pay per release or per month?

Pay per release if you ship a major version every month or two, and per month if you release every sprint. A monthly plan includes regression testing on every release and weekly QA reports, and the first two weeks are risk-free.

Do you charge extra for retests?

Release QA and the launch check include one retest round. Monthly plans retest every fix within your hours, and extra retests on fixed-price work cost $45 per hour.
