Security QA testing for web, mobile and AI-built apps

BugsQA is a security QA testing company that tests access control, logins, secrets and every security fix on each release of your web or mobile app, so the flaws AI tools now find in hours are caught by us first.

Attackers got faster in 2026. Most release checks did not.

Our 2026 security QA research found that vulnerabilities are now found and exploited faster than most teams retest their releases.

  • +75%

CVE records published by October 2026 vs all of 2025

  • 44

WordPress Core security fixes in 2026, after 2 in 2025

  • 46%

of WordPress vulnerabilities had no patch when they went public

  • 48%

of developers always check AI-written code before committing

Is security QA testing right for your team?

Security QA testing fits teams that ship often and need someone to check what each release allows before users find out.

It’s for you if

  • You ship weekly or every sprint, and security gets checked once a year, or never
  • Your developers write much of the code with Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot or an AI app builder
  • Your product has user roles, accounts or customer data that must stay separate
  • A customer, investor or auditor asked how you test security between pentests

It’s not the right fit if

  • You need a formal penetration test or certificate for PCI DSS or a contract; we refer you to a pentest firm
  • You need 24/7 monitoring or incident response
  • You want an automated scan report only, with nobody testing your roles and flows

Security QA testing services

We test the products where our research shows the most risk, as part of your release cycle.

APIs behind web and mobile apps

REST and GraphQL endpoints tested for authentication, object-level authorization and data exposure for every role. See our API testing service.

Why product teams choose BugsQA

A strong QA partner should improve release visibility without creating more management work.

Web and mobile QA specialization

We focus on quality assurance for websites, web applications, iOS apps, Android apps, and cross-platform products.

Hands-on testing first

We start with manual, exploratory and regression testing, the work that finds unexpected problems. Automation comes in for stable, repeatable workflows when it saves you time.

Same hours as your team

Nearshore QA from Colombia supports direct collaboration with US and Canadian product and engineering teams during overlapping working hours.

Actionable reporting

We focus on defects developers can reproduce and test results product teams can use to make release decisions.

Flexible QA capacity

Start with one release or build BugsQA into every sprint as your product grows.

What we test on every release

Every security pass covers the seven areas where releases break, written as test cases you keep, mapped to OWASP ASVS Level 1 and 2.

  • Access control: every role tried against every page, action and API endpoint, including other users' records
  • Logins and accounts: sign-up, login, password reset, email confirmation, sessions and two-factor, including skipped and replayed steps
  • Secrets and configuration: no keys in your JavaScript or app bundle; database rules tested from a logged-out session
  • Input handling: forms, uploads and URL parameters tested with the OWASP Web Security Testing Guide payloads
  • Dependencies: every package exists, is the one you meant and has no known vulnerability
  • Business logic: negative quantities, edited prices, skipped payment steps, reused coupons
  • Fix retests: every security fix retested the day it ships, with regression on the features around it

Security QA, penetration testing or a scanner?

Security QA testing, penetration testing and automated scanners answer different questions, and most products need QA plus one of the other two.

Use a pentest when a regulation or contract requires one, such as PCI DSS requirement 11.4. Use us to keep its findings from coming back between pentests.

Our security QA process

A security QA engagement goes from a free call to testing your build in 2 to 3 business days.

  1. 01

    Free call

We learn what you build, which AI tools write your code, your user roles and where a security bug would hurt most.

  2. 02

    Access and NDA

We sign the agreement and an NDA, then get a test account for every role, a staging build and a seat in your bug tracker.

  3. 03

    Security test plan

We map roles, sensitive data and entry points and write the test cases. You approve the plan before testing starts.

  4. 04

    Testing and reports

We test each build and report issues with steps, severity, affected roles and video, during your working hours.

  5. 05

    Fix retests

We retest every security fix the day it ships and run regression on the features around it.

What security QA testing costs

Security QA testing runs on our standard plans, so the price is fixed or monthly, never open-ended.

One release

$1,500from, fixed price per release

A full security pass before a launch, redesign or major update.

  • Security test plan and test cases
  • Access control, logins, secrets, input and dependency checks
  • Bug reports with video and severity
  • One retest round and a sign-off report

Every release

$1,700from, per month, part-time (40 hours)

A dedicated QA engineer who runs functional and security testing in your sprints.

  • Security regression on every release
  • Same-day fix retests in your time zone
  • Weekly QA reports
  • Hours adjustable month to month

Smaller jobs

$45per hour

For a single feature, a fix retest or a quick check after a security update.

Not sure which fits? Send your release schedule and user roles; a QA lead replies within 1 business day with a recommendation.

Estimate your exact price in a minute

What you don’t risk

You can start small and stop anytime.

  • No long-term contract. Monthly plans run month to month.
  • Fixed price per release. No hourly surprises on a release test.
  • Retest included. Every release test includes a fix retest round.
  • NDA first. We sign before we see your product.
  • Your tools. Reports go into your tracker, not ours.
  • Fast start. Testing begins 2 to 3 business days after signing.

Frequently asked questions about security QA testing

Still have questions?

What is security QA testing?

Security QA testing is security testing done by QA engineers as part of release testing: written test cases for access control, logins, secrets, input handling, dependencies and fixes, run on every release with reproducible bug reports. It catches the common, high-impact classes of bugs early and keeps them from returning between penetration tests.

How much does security QA testing cost?

At BugsQA, a security pass on one release costs from $1,500 fixed, ongoing security QA with a dedicated engineer starts at $1,700 per month (40 hours), and smaller jobs cost $45 per hour. The free call sets the roles, platforms and number of releases covered.

Do you replace a penetration test?

No. We run security QA testing on every release; a penetration test is a periodic attack by specialists. When PCI DSS, a client contract or an auditor requires a pentest, use a specialist firm, and use our testing to keep its findings from coming back between pentests.

Do you need our source code?

No. We test the running application through its screens and APIs with a test account for each role, the way an attacker would reach it. Read access to the code helps with dependency checks and is optional, under NDA.

What if you find nothing critical?

Then you get a documented record of what was tested and passed, which customers and auditors ask for, plus the test cases to rerun on your next release. That record is how you show security is checked between pentests.

How fast can you start?

Most security QA engagements start 2 to 3 business days after signing, once we have a staging build and a test account for each role. If you have a launch date, tell us on the first call and we plan around it.

Who does the testing?

A BugsQA QA engineer from our team in Cali, Colombia, working your hours. You talk to the tester and our client lead directly, not through an account manager.

Test what your release allows before attackers do

Your team ships faster than ever. Make sure someone checks who can do what before each release goes live.

BugsQA provides security QA testing for websites, web apps, mobile apps and AI-built software, from $1,500 per release.
