QA testers who work in your time zone

Nearshore QA services are software testing and quality assurance services delivered by a team in a nearby region with a similar time zone, so testers work during your team’s working day.

BugsQA works from Cali, Colombia, which stays on UTC-5 all year, so testing happens in real time alongside your software development. That gives US East Coast teams 7 to 8 hours of time zone overlap a day, and West Coast teams 5 to 6 hours.

With nearshore QA testing, developers answer a tester’s question in minutes, push a fix in the afternoon and see it verified before the end of the day.

An offshore QA team on the other side of the world usually picks up the same question the next morning.

When should you outsource QA services?

Teams outsource QA testing when developers are testing their own work and bugs still reach users, but a full-time QA hire doesn’t make sense yet.

It’s for you if

  • Your developers test their own features, and bugs still reach production
  • You ship every sprint and need regression testing before each release, not once a quarter
  • A launch, redesign or migration is coming and nobody owns testing
  • Your in-house QA tester is overloaded and needs extra hands for a few months

It’s not the right fit if

  • You need a QA team on site in your office every day
  • You only want a one-hour check with no test plan or bug reports
  • An outside tester can’t get access to a staging build or test accounts

What our nearshore QA services include

Our nearshore QA services and QA outsourcing services cover the testing a product team needs every release: new features, regressions, web, mobile, APIs, automation, performance, accessibility, usability and localization.

Manual and exploratory testing

A QA engineer tests new features the way your users will and finds the edge cases scripted checks miss. Every bug report includes steps to reproduce, expected and actual results, environment details, severity and a video.

Regression testing every release

We keep a regression suite for your critical user journeys (sign-up, login, checkout, payments, dashboards) and run it before each release, so new features don’t break what already worked and test coverage grows with your product.

Web and mobile app testing

We test websites and web applications across browsers and screen sizes, and iOS and Android apps on real devices before App Store and Google Play releases.

API and integration testing

We check that your APIs return the right data, handle errors and keep working after each change, using Postman, and we test the end-to-end flows where your app meets payment, email and third-party services.

Test automation

When core flows are stable, we automate them with Playwright, Cypress or Selenium for web and Appium for mobile, and run them in your CI/CD pipeline on GitHub Actions or the tool you already use. See our web test automation approach.

Performance and load testing

We load test your key flows with JMeter or k6 to find the point where response times climb or requests start failing, and check page speed, so a launch-day traffic spike doesn’t take the product down.

Accessibility testing

We check your pages and app screens against WCAG with axe and Lighthouse, then test the main flows with a screen reader and keyboard only, and report each issue with the guideline it breaks.

Usability testing

We go through your sign-up, onboarding and checkout as a first-time user and report where people get stuck, with a screenshot and suggested fix for each.

Localization testing

We test your product in English, Spanish and other languages for missing translations, cut-off text, wrong date and currency formats, and layouts that break with longer text.

QA outsourcing models: how you can work with us

When you outsource QA services to BugsQA, you pick one of four QA outsourcing models, from a quick launch check to a QA engineer in your sprints every month.

Launch check

A QA engineer tests sign-up, login, password reset, payments and one main flow of a small or AI-built app on 2 real devices, in 2 to 3 days, with a bug list, videos and one retest.

Release QA

A fixed-price test of one release, launch, redesign or migration, sized by platforms and user flows, with a test plan, test cases, bug reports with video, one retest round and a sign-off report.

Ongoing QA

The same QA engineer every month, inside your sprints, tracker and chat: the managed alternative to staff augmentation. Start part-time at about 10 hours a week and grow to full-time.

QA automation

Automated smoke and regression checks for your critical flows, built on our manual test cases and run in your CI/CD with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or Appium.

Every model has a published price in the pricing section below, and you can estimate your price in a minute. When a project needs more than one engineer, we add QA engineers to your team.

Nearshore vs offshore vs onshore vs in-house QA

Nearshore QA outsourcing gives you a tester in your working day at a lower rate than onshore or in-house QA, while offshore QA costs less per hour but answers the next morning.

Offshore and onshore rates come from SoftwareTestPilot’s 2026 QA outsourcing rate guide; the in-house rate is the BLS median salary divided by 2,080 hours.

What does the risk-free start include?

Every Ongoing QA plan starts with two risk-free weeks, an NDA and a QA engineer who works inside your tools.

  • First two weeks risk-free. Not happy with the first two weeks of Ongoing QA? You don’t pay for them.
  • NDA before any access. We sign it before we see your builds, code or data.
  • Your tools, not ours. We work in your Jira, Linear, GitHub, Slack or Teams.
  • You own the tests. Test code, test cases and reports are yours from day one.
  • Month to month. Ongoing QA has no long-term contract; change or stop with notice.
  • Fixes retested. We verify each fix and rerun regression on the related flows; Release QA includes one retest round.

How our nearshore QA engagement works

A BugsQA engagement goes from a free call to testing your build in 2 to 3 business days.

  1. 01

    Free call

We learn what you are building, how often you release and where bugs hurt most, then recommend the plan that fits.

  2. 02

    Agreement and access

We sign the agreement and NDA, get access to your builds and test accounts, and join your tracker and chat.

  3. 03

    Test plan and test cases

We map your key user flows and write test cases, starting with the areas where a bug would hurt most. You review the test plan before testing starts.

  4. 04

    Testing and bug reports

We test each build and report bugs in your tracker with steps, severity and video, answering questions in Slack, Teams or email during your working hours.

  5. 05

    Fix verification and regression

We retest every fix and run regression on the related features, so a release ships only when the critical flows pass.

How will you know nearshore QA testing is working?

Nearshore QA testing is working when fewer bugs reach your users, regression takes less of your team’s time and every release has a clear go or no-go.

We track three numbers with you from the first month:

  • Escaped defects: the bugs your users or support team find after a release, which should fall as our coverage grows.
  • Regression time: the hours your developers spend rechecking old features, which drop once we own regression and automate the stable flows.
  • Test coverage: which user flows have test cases and which don’t yet, so your product manager sees what we test next.

Each release also ends with a sign-off report listing what passed and what is still open, so your go or no-go decision is an informed one.

QA projects from our nearshore team

Our QA engineer’s longest engagement ran 2,283 hours of manual QA for one client.

2,283 hours as a client’s manual QA tester

The client hired our QA engineer as their manual QA tester in October 2024 and kept him on until February 2026, for 2,283 hours of testing. In the client’s review, he "always replied quickly and met every deadline", "paid close attention to details improving the quality of the product" and "made sure customers were helped in the right way", with work that was "clear and well organized."

Retesting a product after code changes

A second client brought our QA engineer in for manual software testing after changes to their product. Testing after changes is regression work: it confirms the new code does what it should and that features which already worked still do. The client’s review: "He knows testing very well and works efficiently."

Frequently asked questions about nearshore QA services

Still have questions?

Is nearshore QA the same as nearshore staffing?

Nearshore QA and nearshore staffing are different services. A staffing firm places a tester you manage yourself, while BugsQA runs the testing for you: we write the test plan and test cases, report bugs and sign off each release, and our dedicated QA engineer still works inside your sprints.

Do you provide both manual and automated testing?

BugsQA provides both manual and automated testing. We start with manual and exploratory testing to understand your product, then automate the stable flows that repeat every release, using Playwright, Cypress or Selenium for web and Appium for mobile.

Can your QA engineer join our sprint meetings and CI/CD?

A BugsQA QA engineer on Ongoing QA joins your stand-ups, sprint planning and reviews, works in your tracker and chat, and runs automated checks inside your CI/CD pipeline once automation is set up.

What does the risk-free first two weeks cover?

The risk-free first two weeks cover the first two weeks of an Ongoing QA plan. If you are not happy with our testing in that time, you don’t pay for those two weeks. Release QA is a fixed-price project with an agreed scope, so it is priced and signed off per release instead.

What is the difference between nearshore and offshore QA testing?

Nearshore QA testing is done by a team in a nearby time zone, offshore QA testing by a team many hours ahead or behind, so the main difference is how much of the working day you share. Our guide to nearshore vs offshore QA testing compares overlap, 2026 rates by region and when each model fits.

How much do nearshore QA services cost?

BugsQA's nearshore QA services cost $450 for a launch check, from $1,500 for a fixed-price Release QA project, from $1,700 a month for Ongoing QA (40 hours, up to $5,900 full-time), $6,500 to set up QA automation, or $45 to $55 per hour. Our nearshore app testing cost breakdown compares that with a US in-house QA tester line by line.

Who owns the automated tests and test code?

You own the automated tests and test code from the first commit. Every test lives in your repository, built on open-source frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium and Appium, and the test cases and reports are yours too, so if you stop working with us your team can keep running the suite.

Do we need a long-term contract?

BugsQA doesn’t require a long-term contract. Release QA is a fixed-price project, Ongoing QA runs month to month, and hourly work is billed for the hours used. You can change or stop a plan with notice, as set in our agreement.
